Sunland’s team in Goose Creek, SC recently celebrated the rollout of the innovative “Meaningful Employment Environment” (MEE) program developed by TrailPath WorkPlace Solutions. The MEE program is designed to enable Sunland to scale leadership behaviors and make organizational decisions based on the paths of team members.
As defined by TWS, A Meaningful Employment Environment is a workplace…
- That is designed to meet the modern challenges of a shrinking workforce, changing employee attitudes and the recognition that people have choices.
- Where dignity and meaningful work are the foundations for organizational decisions, leadership behaviors, and team member participation.
- Where trust has been established, fundamental needs are being met, the environment is participative, and the work is meaningful.
At the beginning of 2024 the TrailPath team conducted a Meaningful Employment Environment (MEE) Assessment with Sunland’s Team Members to get a deeper understanding of how they feel about their roles by responding to Fundamental Statements such as:
“I believe my work is meaningful and purposeful, and I enjoy what I do.” & “My employment environment motivates me to engage and participate to my fullest potential.”
After reviewing the results of the assessment and training the Sunland site leaders to be prepared for the next phase, the Team Members at the site will have the opportunity to engage in NxtPath Leaning – designed to enable Team Members to:
- Learn how to improve their experience in the workplace
- Develop their own Path for growth
- Meaningfully contribute to the organization
The festive rollout celebration marked the launch of an interactive learning & development program designed to help team members thrive in their careers and to help Sunland Logistics Solutions retain talent in today’s challenging labor market.
When asked why Sunland decided to partner with TrailPath WorkPlace Solutions and implement the MEE program at the Goose Creek site where their team members provide warehousing and shuttle logistics support for a local chemical manufacturing plant, Sunland’s CEO, Arch Thomason, responded, “Ultimately, our values align with the program the team at TrailPath WorkPlace Solutions has developed, and we believe this program will provide value for our team members, our customers, and our organization. We want to be an employer of choice and ensure our company culture is a differentiator for us as we continue to grow.”
In response to the new MEE program, Logistics Coordinator, Lonnell Williams shared, “I am looking forward to growth, change, opportunities, and new beginnings within my Sunland journey.”
