    • Originally joined Sunland as Director of Sales in 1996 and acquired the company to lead the team into a new era as CEO in 2005.
    • Over 20 years of experience in the logistics arena, including domestic warehousing, transportation services, and implementing supply chain solutions for Fortune 500 Companies primarily in the chemical, automotive, retail, and paper industries.
    • Serves on the executive committee and is a board member of the Barbara Stone Foundation and an active member of Young Presidents Organization (YPO).
    • A graduate of the Citadel and with an MBA from BJU, Arch resides in Greenville, SC with his wife Sara and twin sons.

    • Joined Sunland in 2020 as accomplished Human Resources Leader with a progressive career driving HR initiatives throughout organizations in areas of merger & acquisition, organizational change, senior leadership development, succession planning and custom compensation programs.
    • Previous experience includes Human Resource business partner for Denny’s Inc Corporate Headquarters supporting employees based in corporate headquarters & field teams located remotely throughout the US. Senior Human Resources leader and business partner for plant senior leadership team and corporate staff located onsite. Responsible for the planning and execution of all human resource strategic and functional activities for Tier 1 automotive supplier to BMW.

Currently overseeing Sunland’s vendor program, risk management and insurance coverage, building safety and compliance, MHE acquisitions and Maintenance Department.
    • Lean Leader certified and expertise in leading cost saving improvement projects such as $150,000 annual savings in tax credits, $95,000 annual savings through restructuring of MHE assets.
    • Served as project manager for the building of multiple large build to suit contract warehouses for hazmat, food grade, and OTC products.
    • Originally joined Sunland in 1985 as Administrative Assistant to the founder / first CEO and grew to become VP of Asset Management and active member of Sunland’s Safety Committee and Quality and Innovations Council.

JERRY’S STORY

Jerry Barrineau started at Sunland as a temporary Forklift Operator. Within two years, he worked his way to becoming a fulltime Supervisor for Sunland’s largest retail customer. He helped lead the team through peak seasons with record breaking volumes and contributed to Sunland earning the Business Partner of the Year Award for two years in a row. Jerry’s commitment to excellence, positive attitude and willingness to rise above in assuming leadership responsibilities led him to become Sunland’s first Annual ICARE Award Winner, for which he was presented with a $5000 check by Sunland’s CEO, Arch Thomason in 2012.

Jerry has continued to advance his career with Sunland and now runs a returns management operation and e-commerce fulfillment center for two strategic customers.

Sunland University

Sunland University is a career advancement and associate development program based on the premise that our associates possess talents and qualities in many areas of great value to the operations of our warehouses. As part of the Sunland Logistics Solutions, Inc. ICARE program, Sunland University provides opportunities for associates to advance to lead and supervisory positions, as well as customer service and administrative positions.

Sunland University is separate from the annual performance review to encourage associates to develop professionally. Sustained excellence of performance and progressive professional development are rewarded, regardless of the capacity in which an associate serves.

Core Curriculum

Sunland’s leadership recognizes the importance of each associate having a firm foundation in the company’s values, culture, traditions, the contextual framework in which the organization operates, and the organization’s core competencies, as well as job-specific capabilities.
