Sunland Logistics Solutions welcomes Melissa Scott as their new VP of Information Technology. The growing third-party logistics company is excited for the new addition to their Senior Leadership Team as Melissa brings valuable leadership & IT expertise gained from both her time serving in the U.S. Air Force and nearly twenty years of IT and project management experience within the warehousing & logistics environment.
With experience successfully supporting customers across multiple industries and working within both medium to global supply chain companies, Melissa is uniquely positioned to help Sunland’s team and customers continue to further leverage advanced technology and innovation to achieve results that generate quantified value.
When asked why she wanted to join Sunland’s team, Melissa Scott replied,
“Sunland has seen phenomenal growth in the last few years and the momentum is expected to continue. As an IT leader in the third-party logistics industry, I understand the growing pains that can occur as a result. I am passionate about building IT frameworks focused on accuracy, responsiveness, repeatable processes, and scalability. I’m excited to lead the IT team in defining and executing a digital transformation roadmap to drive sustainable growth and quantified value for our customers.
The second factor for my decision to join the team was the servant leadership culture and diverse leadership team. Sunland’s vision is to create a great 3PL company where opportunity exists, people want to work, and customers want to buy. From what I’ve observed in my first few days at Sunland, the company values ( safety first, servant leadership, learning organization, results matter) actually are at the heart of Sunland’s positive, continuous improvement culture. They are incorporated into the decision-making process and ensure Sunland’s vision is a reality.”
