The recent promotions of Carol Black, Melody Kelly, Patrick Norman, and Vanessa Jones reflect Sunland’s continued investment in talent and the belief that its people are the foundation of the organization and are essential for scaling its winning culture.
Strengthening Multi-Site Operational Leadership
Carol Black has been promoted to Senior Director of Operations, where she will support key operations across multiple sites, strengthening execution and enhancing team performance.
Since joining Sunland in 2023, Carol has brought more than 20 years of 3PL industry experience and a proven track record of leading complex, multi-client operations totaling 2.4 million square feet. Throughout her career, she has built safe, efficient, and customer-focused operations that drive profitability, strengthen team performance, and deliver exceptional quality and service.
Driving Culture and Talent Development
Melody Kelly has been promoted to Senior Director of People & Culture. In her new role, she will continue advancing Sunland’s people-first culture while supporting team member development and organizational growth.
With more than 20 years of experience spanning operations, automotive, transportation, warehousing, logistics, and People & Culture, Melody brings a unique combination of operational expertise and people leadership to her role. Over her 13-year tenure with Sunland, she has contributed to the company’s success through a variety of leadership positions, helping drive business performance, talent development, and organizational growth.
Advancing Safety, Operations, and Enterprise Performance
Patrick Norman has been promoted to Senior General Manager, Safety & Operations. In this role, he will lead enterprise safety performance, operational excellence, and customer success across a multi-site network, while driving continuous improvement and strengthening organizational capability.
Patrick brings over 15 years of experience in Logistics and Safety Operations, with a background spanning food-grade environments, automotive manufacturing, and distribution. Throughout his career, he has focused on driving operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement across diverse industries.
Elevating Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence
Vanessa Jones has been promoted to Operational Excellence Manager, where she will support continuous improvement initiatives and partner with teams across Sunland to drive meaningful results.
With more than seven years of experience in quality, operations, and continuous improvement, Vanessa has built her career by stepping into complex and leading initiatives that deliver measurable results. From supporting large-scale customer implementations to standardizing processes and driving operational improvements, she has earned a reputation for solving challenges with a practical, people-first approach.
